Also I feel the need to mention. This is my favorite photo I've ever taken, and due to my old computer crashing and whipping out my hard drive the CR2 and high res files are Gone for ever. Now this low res one is the only copy I'm left with :( so if your not in the habit of doing it already, START BACKING UP YOUR HARD DRIVES LOL RAID THEM IF POSSIBLE!!!

Shea, I was looking through your gallery and came across this: http://dablackswan.com …ance/shutupanddance34.jpg (external link).

Looks like a "Litepanel": http://www.lafcpug.org …ws/review_litepanels.html (external link).

Would like to know what effect this produces.

From myself, SOOCs from a few weeks ago that show things from a different perspective:

This one was from a charity night to raise money to help a young man get the latest treatment for terminal cancer. The guy to the right of the frame was getting his head shaved:

Recently I also made my own bounce card out of cardboard. It may look "ghetto", but it's better than paying £50 for a crappy piece of plastic by Gary Fong that doesn't work.

Not many people appear to notice it, but those that do laugh - a great moment to seize a photographic opportunity. :p

Using ETTL, I noticed that it sometimes has a tendency to overshoot, so the effect of the bounce card is lost due to the flash output. I think it's time for me to go manual on the flash - something I've put off for too long.

Not sure he was shooting video though. It seems to be a pretty harsh blushing quality of light, with lots of fall off creating a vinetting effect. Heres the video he made you can see for yourself. http://www.youtube.com …Q&feature=player_embedded (external link)

Shea - I've liked the work you and Chris have been putting out for ages, if I'm ever in the US I'll be dropping you a message to find the best nights in Chicago. I've not seen anywhere in the UK where people are obviusly having so much fun.

Shea.Flynn: Use Carbonite backup. Best money spent. I use this in addition to a backup external drive.

lol Srika you see the video Tamara and I did for NYE? its ok for my first attempt, I'd say its somewhere in the middle. Thanks SleazyMermaid! haha don't let the pics fool you things only get crazy here once in a blue moon, it used to be amazing but things have calmed down a bit. Usually its just the standard lets all stand in a circle around a bottle, complaining about how much you just spend on said bottle. Thanks fminus I'll look into that!

haha yeah it was a VERY hipster party, how ever I find them much more fun to shoot. They're never at a loss to think of a pose; and they know they look a little rough to begin with so they don't **** about not looking tan enough, being to fat, ect. I get so fed up with shooting bottle service parties they always bust out the exact same stereotypical poses. Live a little try something new!
