DELETED

I seriously don't understand girls. The ones above actually feel they look so bad that they've gone to the trouble of removing it from the album. Huh? They're promo staff for Rough Hill so no doubt will have admin access to the page. The only thing I can see wrong with it is it's a little dark around the edges and slightly out of focus!

1/10th exposure, 3 second intervals with a calumet intervalometer :) took about 30-40 minutes till his manager "kindly" asked me to remove the camera.

Ah nice. I've had many people ask me about doing this. Now I know. Thing is it's always for "setup" sequences, you know, where you leave a camera in a location as they put all the lights and truss up and people start coming in. I'll have to get a throwaway camera or something, too. Not leaving my MK II unattended.

I haven't really done much with it since I started it... but I want to get it out there and filled up with stories of us fellow nightlife photographers

Unfortunately, my suggestion is to read through the thread. Although it's time consuming, there's lots of good information in here.

New here - Question?

Hi guys, I've been following this thread for a small minority of the posts (a minority is a LOT in this case, considering how both threads exceed a total of 1000 pages). I recently got a job as the entertainment photographer for my student union. Only done 3 Gigs so far, got another tonight, but I've been coming up with a couple of issues. You guys have taught me so much, and the results show. However I have a couple of questions which have bothering me.

Kit
Canon 7D, 15-85mm kit lens and a 430EXII with a stofen attached as my setup.

The settings I fluctuate around?
0"4 @ 6.3 with an aperture of 640. I have FEC at +2/3 and sometimes switch to +1
I second-curtain sync set on, and for now, I prefer it like this. (I realise a lot of you dislike the delay in action, and the confusion the first flash causes, but I'm in love with the ambient trails behind)

My issue?
I work twice a week, fri & sat, at two different clubs. It seems at one of them, I seem to be picking up some ambient light which sabotages my images. I mean, it seems like my camera can't even interpret the colour.

Example
This picture is an example picture, it's a pretty awful image, the framing is off, there's too much zoom, but the colour is what I'm worried about. The picture is way below my standard, and I'm just using it as an example! (Just saying, don't want my first post on this forum to be one which will define my skill set forever haha)

IMAGE: http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/4572/img0880xt.jpg

Final Note
My only theories are that I'm exposing for too much ambient, but it seems to be only with that specific light. I have authorisation to talk with the lighting staff and sort out a solution. May I note that this is in maybe 1/20 of the pictures I produce, usually when that purple light is directly hitting the subjects. It's not a huge problem, but it's one which I have no answer for.

Thanks!
