I imagine the club promoters can be pretty ruthless! Daniel Watson BA(Hons)

I know the right thing would be to sell the images, but at the same time I really don't mind him having the high res copies - it would be pretty cool to see my work on stuff. Woop, just bought a 60d! I agree if you depend on the income. What would be fair to both parties would be give him the high res stuff now, and just let him know up front going forward that the high res copies are generally a different cost above and beyond. Feb 21, 2012 14:55 | #3124 Yes, definitely, make sure you're getting paid for it. If they start distributing the photos as part of a promotion or through commercials or the like, you're not getting paid for it and they're getting free advertising media, basically. Like I told my friend after the first time, I did a shoot and provided the photos for free, but going forward it would cost more, albeit at a lower price than I would charge anyone else. Seriously, you're getting into licensing issues here. If a media outlet takes your photo and redistributes it without your consent or if the venue makes money from "selling" your photo, what recourse do you have? Protect yourself. They should respect you for being a legit business man... -Chris

Should I provide full sized 100% quality exports or shrink them a little? Explain to the manager that the agreement was that you take the photos and upload them to facebook or whatever for whatever price you charge. anything extra like that you have to charge for it --Jason--

So they may quite well be entitled to all your images while your being paid, it is much different than a contract situation. Ahh I see. Not even sure to be honest! Guess I kinda am a Rough Hill member of staff... Do you reckon I should just leave it and send the images then? Then again, it only says this on my invoices: "Services Photographer Full Moon @ Leeds the 2012-02-16 £30" Daniel Watson BA(Hons)
