Still in miami... some WMC previews

Sent this photo to Wally on sunday morning, next day he hired me to be his personal photographer for the remainder of WMC, my 6 day trip turned into an 11 day trip! Been working for an opportunity like this for over a year.. Remember kids, always believe in yourself, work hard, and keep your head up, countless times ive felt like i was not going anywhere, only to be picked up and done something good to keep the dream alive... Will update further on this relationship later on.. Thanks to all you guys for always inspring me to be better

hey Brandsanity, don't assume girls don't refuse pictures by me... it happens at least a few times a night. Something to keep in mind, you can usually coax girls into photos... even if they say no the first time. just have to ask a few times, and keep changing up your approach... actually it's not too difficult at all to convince a girl (or whoever) for photos. give it a shot. It also helps if they have friends around, you just kinda ask them to ask their friend to do a photo, it becomes like a game sometimes. Just go for it.

yeah, that's what I do.... they usually say no before they've had a few drinks and start dancing, once they're on the floor they seek me out normally, lol...

glad you liked it. that is one on-camera 580ex2 pointed upwards with a DIY paper shroud mod since i broke the built in diffuser and bounce card off a while ago. i'll post a pic of it later.

Awesome, look forward to it. Been wanting to try an alternative way of lighting up my subjects for a bit now, only got into the game a month and a bit ago, but it's clear my lighting is just too harsh. I have a lot to learn.

Experimenting with the 85 1.2 L for WMC. In a nutshell it can be a frustrating lens to use in a club environment. Slow to focus, and I'm sure I need to use the microadjustment feature to optimize it. It's a rental so I'm not gonna bother with that. However, when you land a shot it's nothing short of insane. But, is it $2000+ insane? Not sure. I'd love to have it but I'd need to be doing something on a near-daily basis that requires it (portraiture, etc..) to lay out that cash.

The 1.2 aperture came in handy sometimes. The techno guys (Luciano, Richie Hawtin) at Space wanted the room really dark. Angello is tonight so I expect some more light to play with. Space invested in some Platinum Beam 5Rs from Elation and they are insane. I'm sure I'll see Rukes at Angello.
