Hi, I think it's arrived the moment to change my 18-55 whit a news lense.
My budget is about 300/400€, what lenses do you recommed for nightclub photography?

I've founded Tokina 11-16 F2.8 DXII at 400€, what do you think?

You don't actually stop down to 2.8 on a 2.8 lens... but that doesn't really matter, great shots...

Had a go with the crowd shots but seeing your settings it has come clear to me that my venues are far too dark or smokey!

I have to push ISO 12800, 1/30 and f2 to get a shot about 1 stop underexposed ha!
The club I do as well have some kinda love for the smoke machine that can only be described as "excessive". Really screws up the contrast on big crowd shots.

Thanks for the tips though anyways!

Managed to break my 1D mark 2 so I'm currently shooting with a even more old school 1Ds classic. ISO restrictions are not so nice for our work, but the pics are quite nice for a 10+ year old body.

if you have Lightroom, you can get that look by reducing highlights, increasing shadows / fill light, and using Split Toning on both Highlights and Shadows to get those other colors in.

You can also get that look with various cross processing filters in Photoshop etc.

Question: Do any of you guys have any experiences with the Canon 10-22mm lens for nightlife? I have a Tamron 17-50 non VC and I am looking to replace it with something a little wider.
