I got this lens around Christmas and haven't had many chances to get out with it. I was able to get to the Tidal Basin in Washington DC early one morning and take some pictures of cherry blossoms. Oh, and the mandatory duck picture. Both shots are wide open at f/2.0.

I like mine on both the 1D3 and 5d, but 5d more. I do the best with what I have. These are a few recent ones.

[Several nice shots]

Nice work - would love to see EXIF data, at least aperture/ISO.

I'm about to trade up my 85mm 1.8 + cash for this lens... but I love my 85 1.8 too... dang it! What to do. What to do.

Process of elimination. Does most of your work environment give you enough space to move around with a longer focal length? Do you need the lens mostly for tight crops on the subject to use the telephoto aspect of the lens? Is f1.8 a necessity or can you deal with f2? (not a big difference anyway).

FWIW I almost always stop my 85 down to f/2.8 anyway -- YMMV.

This lens looks phenomenal.

The only thing I worry about is that it's easier to move closer than to move backwards.

I just purchased a 200mm f/2.8L... I now know what my next lens is going to be. I was just talking to the wife about why this lens was so much more... now I know why.

Nice shot, but your subject matter is peculiar.

m.shalaby would be so kind to share more details on how you approach these people and how you ask them to pose? Like what do you tell them the pics are for? I would love to try this strangers project some time but I'm not very good with people and that is definitely something I want to improve on. I think this would be a great way to do so. Amazing pics once again.
