I was able to get to the Tidal Basin in Washington DC early one morning and take some pictures of cherry blossoms. Oh, and the mandatory duck picture. Both shots are wide open at f/2.0.

What to do. What to do. Process of elimination. Does most of your work environment give you enough space to move around with a longer focal length? Do you need the lens mostly for tight crops on the subject to use the telephoto aspect of the lens? Is f1.8 a necessity or can you deal with f2? (not a big difference anyway). l Mario l AE-1P l EOS 5 l 5Dc l 5DII l 17-40L l 35L l 50 1.4 l 100L l 70-200L II l

FWIW I almost always stop my 85 down to f/2.8 anyway -- YMMV. 5D2, 24-105L, 85mm f/1.8, MP960, HG21, crumbling G6+R72, Brownian toddler

Like what do you tell them the pics are for? I would love to try this strangers project some time but I'm not very good with people and that is definitely something I want to improve on. I think this would be a great way to do so. Amazing pics once again. l Mario l AE-1P l EOS 5 l 5Dc l 5DII l 17-40L l 35L l 50 1.4 l 100L l 70-200L II l
