It was a 7 and a bit mile hike going up about 1600 ft with a nominal hike time of 4.5 hours. Even though we are unfit flatlanders and we stopped often to catch our breath and take photos we still did it in 5 hours. The hike itself is quite spectacular with a dramatic rise mostly under shaded cover with many panoramic windows through trees.

In the photo below I have marked the track in the valley with red arrow. The lake in the distance is Waterton Lake.
