I'm referring to my lens kit. The zoom ring is a bit jerky and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions to "smoothen out" the way it feels.

The situation that makes the zoom jerkiness stand out is when I'm in manual focus mode while recording movies. When I play it back, it is very apparent in the footage I take.

I know it's a low built lens, but I'm still using it a lot for practicing before I move on to another zoom lens.

If it's fairly new then it will smooth out a little over time. Other than that it's just something you will have to live with. I've noticed most videos made with DSLR's are fixed on one focal length. I rarely see people using the zoom.

Your probably right, I've been told by my friend to not really zoom when doing video. Been using my 50 1.4 mostly now.

I guess Ill just have to live with it
