Out of the blue i have just been asked if i can do a time lapse series of photos of 2 a day over 12 months !!!! technically i know how to do this via DSLR remote etc but i have a couple of questions i would appreciate some advice on.
What type of camera would be best - i am thinking of using my 50D (and then getting myself a nice little upgrade  ) or what alternative camera would be appropriate?

mains Power supply for canon 50D - http://www.amazon.com …82/ref=dp_cp_ob_p_title_0 (external link) - i would obviously get the UK equivilent

externally mounting the camera on a pole - how ????? which would be best ???

protecting the camera from the elements - again how ???? my obvious thoughts are locate it internal but i have not seen the site and will have to be prepared for the questions if i get asked.

and anything else i should have thought of but have forgotten

Finally what would some one expect to pay for this sort of service?

thanks very much for your anticipated help and advice - and as i am being made redundant from my job this could just assist me with some ££££

The construction industry is increasingly using time-lapse photography as a means of documenting the progress of projects. Here are some websites on technology and hardware that may be of interest...

https://bmumford.securewebsites.com/photo/construction/index.html (external link)

http://siteisight.com/products_%20highres.html (external link)

https://www.harbortronics.com/Products/TimeLapsePackage/ (external link)

I think you'd be better off working with a proven design rather than trying to cobble together something on your own - if it fails mid-year you've lost the assignment...
