For those who dislike neck straps, maybe use holsters, carriers etc. this might be viable alternative for a bit of added security while hand holding. It has a quick release if you need to put the camera down.

The strap is adjustable in length, shown at it's shortest. The closure is via velcro and I have tested it with the 5dm2 griped, the velcro can support the entire weight of the camera. However you wouldn't hang the camera by the strap, it's just extra security if you happen to drop the camera while hand holding, placing it on a tripod in windy conditions , maybe even a bit of theft prevention etc.
