Really Right Stuff Clamp for Gitzo Ballhead

I recently bought a Gitzo 1277 M Ballhead and the problem that I am facing is that I am finding it hard to use due to no Quick release. I was searching some alternatives on net and I came across that people are using Really Right Stuff clamp QR for Gitzo ballheads.

Can anybody on the forum has the experience of doing the same and can anybody share what and how to do?

You basically just attach the quick release clamp to the ballhead the same way that you would attach the camera. Try and find a clamp that is threaded 1/4-20 to match the ballhead. If your clamp is threaded 3/8 than you purchase a 1/4 - 3/8 bushing from Gitzo for about $5.

I discovered searching around the web that it appears to be a relatively simple matter to remove the plate from the top of the Gitzo 1277M and substitute a Arca-Swiss compatible clamp in it's place. B&H even sells a Wimberley kit specifically for that head...
