I have a 135L and am looking at a 100L. If you own both, do both lenses get much use or does one stay at home all the time? If so, which one. Thanks.

More because I really don't shoot macro however. It was a freakishly sharp chunk of glass... I have to confess... I do own the non-L 100mm macro and it is sharp. This is a well worn coin but these are good examples of what it can do.

None of them sits on my camera at all time. That said, since I bought the 100L, 135L has become even more specialised - used only when this 135 mm lens is best for the situation. _______________

Whether it be camera gear, computer, TVs, whatever, I always lust for something new (I should see a pysch)

I am considering repurchasing the 135 for portraits and keeping the 100L for macro. The 135 is faster in every way, the AF on the 100L for portraits drives me batty and the extra stop on the 135L is missed. I regret selling mine. Cheers,

Thanks DK. Believe it or not, I'm scaling down and getting rid of more than I'm buying. jdang307 wrote in post #10458225 I own the 135mm, love it love it love it. I've been reading up on macro lately and I think I'm ready to take the plunge. That's why I'm so hung up on what I'll do with the 135. I love it but it doesn't get much use. My 85 1.8 is on the way out. robbym wrote in post #10459179 These are different lenses for different purposes. I am considering repurchasing the 135 for portraits and keeping the 100L for macro. If you do mostly macro get the 100, if you do mostly portraits get the 135, and if you shoot both and are on a tight budget get the 100 but be prepared for a compromise. Good luck, have fun!! I shoot mostly portraits, but want to to get into macro. I'm trying to be budget minded. I may just end up picking up the 100L and waiting to see how much love the 135 gets after that. Just trying to keep the lens inventory at a minimum.

In all other situation I use the 135L. I love my 135L and not sure if I'm willing to part with it yet. The 135L is a f2 and that's still enough reason to keep it around.
