IMO a monk is the last soul that would kill. My experience with them has been positive.


Canon 60D,18-55mm,55-250mm,50mm compact macro, AF ext tubes. Sigma 8-16mm uwa, 18-250mm, 85mm F1.4, 150-500mm

Monks of the Shaolin monastery practiced and engaged in Kung Fu I believe... so technically those monks could definitely kill you.

You are probably right..

I see Buddhist monks here everyday,, most are really nice guys.. The young ones especially are great.. They'll often stop me in the street for a chat to hone their English speaking skills.. Most of the young monks are novices who'll take the robes and bowl for only a few weeks or months.. It's part of their learning experience.. Mostly all young men in Laos (and Thailand, Cambodia) will become a monk during some time in their lives..The guy in the picture is in for "life" as most older monks are..

These guys are Theravada Buddhist monks as opposed to Mahayana Buddhists like you find in China and Tibet..
