HELP, cannot format memory card

I have a problem, while on holidays my kingston 4gb sdhc memory card on my s90 stopped working. I turned on the cam and the screen said "memory card error". So i cant take pictures.
When i press palys it says the same thing plus "card is locked".

However, my card is not phisically locked.

I then tried the card on my computer, but my computer doesnt even read it. I bought a new card reader to make sure it wasnt a compatibility problem. My new card reader is indeed sdhc compatible. but when i plug it in my computer, nothing happens. I tried all this with another card and it did work, so the problem, im sure, is with the card itself.

I tried a recovery software but that doesnt work becacuse the card isnt even recognized. It doesnt act like a corrupted card, it acts as if it doesnt even exist.

I tried formatting the card in cam, but the option appears greyed out.

I think if i can format the card, then the computer will read it but the cam doesnt even allow it!

So im out of options.

Any help?
Please help.

 Sounds like it's dead. I don't see how you can format or do a recovery if neither the camera nor the computer can read or recognize it. :(

Thanks for the reply.
Maybe its a physical problem, a chipped contact?
