This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new editing tricks.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture, re-sized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being re-sized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 72hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #296".

this game will end Saturday, July 3rd, at 10:00 pm CST .

'frustrated... I toyed w/ 'image shack' in an attempt to offer a full size image for this one... after multiple attempts to upload it, it would upload, then the screen would come back to the beginning & it would tell me that I have no image in my folder' whatever  this game has been trucking along just fine with 1024 sz. edits. Have at it - Blackhawks Locker Room Edit.

great image

changed the look of the back wall to kinda of a neutral wood

changed the look of the bench

straighten the image quite a bit and then clonned in the missing parts - instead of cropping the image to a smaller size.

added a little gaussian blur to the background and sharpened the center jersey a little

my try...
duplicated pic, then desaturated, changed mode to multiply, set opacity to 58.
cloned wall to extend it to edge of pic.
cloned out equip. at the bottom left of pic.
cleaned up bench with the clone tool.
added new layer to add black/red frame.
flatten image.

Been a while since I played.
Decided to do a simple trading card look.

nik tonal contrast adjustment and stuck the logo across the bottom. Complete with the red snipping tool outline. Very quick edit and i'm sure better will be along shortly.

Sorry I'm late, holiday weekend n all, fun BBQ last night ;) Good Times

Pallidum - you really made the jerseys pop although I'm not so sure about the color change on the wood in the back.
jb2u - nice clean edit, I like what the color borders offer the image
NigelD - a more 'natural' blur maybe would have been the way to go? I'm not sure I'm feeling the effect.
MJA - you did a similar crop that NigelD did which I really like, I didnt think to do this myself, it adds alot to crop out that close jersey, I like the card edit.

I am going to give this one to jb2u - Take it away!

Great job everyone!
