Hi Folks,
We all just wanted to thank you for the immense help we are receiving in a recent blight of PM spam.

We are going to make more adjustments to limit this sort of thing in the future, and as always controlling Spam on the forum remains a top priority.

I am posting this here because normally when the odd PM spammer gets through the net, you will receive a personal thank you via PM.
In this case that may not be possible, so please take our sincere thanks for your help!

:):):) THANK YOU :):):)

The POTN Team.

Ditto.

And just to add. If members see pm that appears to be spam then please see if the user has already been banned in which case you do not need to report it.

I was going to forward one to the admin team earlier and then realised he was banned already. Good work team, thanks. :)

I'm really proud to have so many members who care. And very proud of our admin/moderator team who handled this so smoothly.

You have 1 messages stored

Is this the same thing? Can't see this message anywhere. I show 1 unread private message, but I don't see it so I can't read it. Was I a target of the spammer?

Yes that means the spam was deleted before you saw it. There is a leftover in PM count which might stay there a while, please just ignore it.

Thank *you* folks for taking care of it! I saw the pm this afternoon while at work. Since I didn't recognize the name and wasn't particularly sure of the subject, I though I'd click on the member. Banned. :D I deleted the message.

For all of the activity on this forum, I'm super impressed with the almost non-existent spam and troll activity. I was a co-founder of a forum a couple years ago, non-photography related, and I grok the difficulty of fighting forum vermin.

Thank you!

I just received a PM -- I'm almost sure its Spam. But I can't seem to read it. The Private Message Folder say:

Inbox contains 0 messages.
You have 1 messages stored, of a total 100 allowed. (Empty Folder)

I can't seem to figure out how to access / read a stored message. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks.

You can not access it because it does not exist any more. The counter is wrong.

To reset the PM counter send yourself a PM, then delete it.
