Rainy day recycling - Tried some BW conversions of shots I took of the Collings Foundation aircraft this spring. Some have added noise for psuedo film grain

Nice work but I see some halos around prop blades and such...

Maybe pushed the conversions a little too hard.

On the bomber, the black paint was worn off the blade leading edges leaving either bare metal, or green primer. The Mustang had bright gloss red blade tips and on the color version, they are blown out with glare. If that is not what you are seeing, it might be from my resizing in CS5 using the method for best sharpness versus best gradients. Originally the images were over 4000 pixels and were taken down to half that in two stages.

Generally, the conversions look pretty good.

I'm seeing it between the prop tips and the sky on the Mustang.

I like the angles on these and the composition. I am seeing a little bit of halo as well..

I'm thinking that's a curvature of the blade tip and the associated reflection. Not that it couldn't be toned down, but I don't think it's a direct result of over processing.
