I am looking for a good source - quality and price; to produce several prints that I can give my son for his new 10,000 sq ft building housing his pediatric clinic...I already have a few flowers, landscape photos and will shoot more: toys, clowns, animals, etc that can be displayed in reception waiting areas, examination rooms, nurses and doctors station, corridors and doctors offices...I would need to fill up a few large walls and may opt for composite collage, etc. most of the prints will be larger than 12x16..
Would you recommend metallic since we cannot put glass for safety reasons.
Thanks

Cheers,
Tony

I've been printing on metallic. It's not for all your prints. If there are bright white areas, they'll look really blown out. Those probably would be better for canvas. However, pics that have a lot of color or reflected light looks good.

I was happy with the quality of the canvas prints I had made at www.winkflash.com (external link)

They have a 40% off sale going for all canvas prints again I believe.

When you say "metallic" do you mean the paper or the photo on metal. I use
MPIXpro for metallic paper prints and with the "lustre coating" they hold up fine without glass. Wouldn't plexiglass be OK from a safety standpoint?

I just had Bayphoto do a photo with their printing on aluminum process. It came out great!! They have a 25% off coupon for your first order, wish I'd ordered more than one print!!

I printed a waterfall on 11x14 and it is beautiful. The color is really vibrant and it brought out the moss and lichen along with the water.

I took it up to a gallery that displays some of my prints and he loved it. He suggested I do some more, around the same size. Hoping for a sale from Bayphoto.;)

Here's the one I did:

I went with the "White High Gloss" and would stick with that for landscapes.
You can get 3) 4 x 6 prints, one in each finish, for $22.00.

I, also, had the corners rounded (1/8") and had the stand off mount installed, total $7.00 for both.

I ordered from Bayphoto as trial Metallic High Gloss, rounded with float hangers
one 16 x 16 and two 10x20...will see next week...I may also try fotofloot...they offer some unique offerings for wall hanging as in collage of 4 frames of same scene for large wall coverage..

I may also opt just order the prints and do my own mounting...do you guys know where to buy and learn, I remember decades ago I used to mount bw enlargements on plywoods.

I just got a 16x24 fine art canvas (external link) from WHCC today. Very nice! It is my 3rd canvas from them. I think I will go for the gallery wrap next time, even though I don't mind the white edges on the standard canvas.

Both look great. Any chance we could get some "on-the-wall" pics?
