Funny that you are contemplating, because I JUST did a switch with another POTN user here with my T1i for his 40D.

I got a 30D as second body which was nice, but the 40D is even better, live view and other newer features are really fun. I plan on keeping it for a while... when I get a 5DmkII (or some sort of full frame) then we'll see what happens. Sony A6000, 16-50PZ, 55-210, 35mm 1.8 OSS

Perhaps, but if you're dealing with wider apertures this might lead to a misfocus if you focus-recompose. B&W film shooter gone digital.

However, the way prices are for used these days, you might be able to pick up a used 50D for a little more. Worth considering for the micro autofocus adjust, better rear lcd, higher resolution and better high ISO performance. John

SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Jul 04, 2010 07:48 | #22 I just got my 40D from Canon Service after using it so much, the shutter assembly broke. $200 later, it's good as new and wonderfully again! Not the most used of the 3 I have, but still a great choice. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
