HOSTED PHOTO

just out driving sunday and came across this happy sight
LT. (jg) George Bush is under the canopy
taken with my new (to me) 100-400L at 180mm
the plane was sitting with the wings folded, got pictures of it unfolding and taking off, then the high speed pass.
need to clean up the rest.
original is in my flicker account.
enjoy...prop blur is cool!:p

note this wasn't cropped, just a little lightening, and sensor cleaning in post.

thanks all, i wish he would of banked it towards us, but at 300+ mph and 50ft off the deck, i was very happy to get this shot. panning with that big of a lense was interesting.

this plane is based out of Joliet IL.

I know of another one based out of Eureka, IL. (external link)

I think I've posted photos that I've taken of it before around here somewhere.

i was talking to someone who also was taking pictures and he told me joilet, but he could of been wrong.
as a side note, when he took off, everything came up at the same time, meaning the tail wheel and mains lifted at the same time.
been in many taildraggers and the tail always came level first then a little back stick to rotate.

if anyone would like the full raw file for their own use, just ask!
(if i made any money in this hobby my wife would drop dead of shock!)
