hi just wondering how the 100-400 would work on a 7d with a 1.4 extender on? as their is issues on a 40d

If you're referring to the inability to AF with the extender you will find that it's the same case with the 7D as the 40D. You need a 1D to be able to AF with an aperture higher than f/5.6.

You could try taping the pins but the AF performance will probably not be good.

thanks photo-panda thats what i was on with i thought the AF would work on the 7d
