hi just wondering how the 100-400 would work on a 7d with a 1.4 extender on? as their is issues on a 40d

photoPanda Senior Member  616 posts Joined May 2010 Location: East Coast More info | Jul 03, 2010 02:16 | #2 If you're referring to the inability to AF with the extender you will find that it's the same case with the 7D as the 40D. You need a 1D to be able to AF with an aperture higher than f/5.6.
