Parade Lens, Planning on taking 70-200 with a polarizer. Do I use my lens hood? Or lens hood no polarizer? Will be using 5dc sun and shadows on the street at 10am.
Thanks for the information.

Jul 03, 2010 05:53 | #3 If I had a 24-70 thats what I think I would use. My Sigma is so slow, and Tamron won't work on my FF. Guess i'll take my 50mm as well. The 70-200 the best glass I have. Parade pictures with a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Hood used, no polarizer.
The lens seems to have worked well at these parades without a polarizing filter.

I don't believe a polarizer would be needed for a parade.

John_T Goldmember More info | Jul 03, 2010 08:07 | #6 Polarizer can help kill blown out highlights on musical instruments, vehicles and other glitter, make the colors richer too, but you will need to be constantly aware of the angle to the sun to adjust to for your shooting direction, as well as keeping your shutter speed up because of the two stop or so light reduced by the filter.
