Reducing image size without loosing quality

Hi all..

I understand this is perhaps the most basic photography question ever asked..

But I am unable to even reduce my images to be able to be posted on this website..

So my question is, what is the normal process from taking images from camera>PP>website without loosing quality..

Most of the time I have already edited the image by cropping, tweaking the levels, contrast and sharpness. Then for posting I resize the image to about 700 pixels on the longest side, hit the unsharp mask once, add a little border and save it as a jpg image that is less than 150K. That is the max for this site.

If you are using Windows....goHERE and download Prish Image Resizer. It will easily resize your images to the 1024 pixel per side limit. If you use a Mac....I don't have any suggestions for you.
