How do you all like this bag?
I have a Crumpler 5MDH, however when I purchased this bag, I only had a 40D and a 50 1.8.
I am looking for a shoulder bag that can hold a 5D2 w/ 24-70, 17-40, 100 2.8, 50 1.8, and my Speedlite.

Seriously? The 5MDH is way too small for my taste ... not sure I even feel comfortable carrying my 5D + 24-70 in there. MinhThien wrote in post #10474287 that should fit nicely on the 7mdh but it will be really heavy! Well, realistically, I will only be carrying my 5D, 24-70,17-40, 50 1.8, and my 430EX. I only carry my macro when I know I will be using it.

You always want to leave room for future purchases. No sense going with the 6MDH if you're planning on picking up more gear in the near future. But it will be heavy.

No sense going with the 6MDH if you're planning on picking up more gear in the near future. But it will be heavy. I just threw my grey Crumpler 8 MDH up on ebay (now looking for a backpack). It was just way too big and heavy for a messenger style bag (for me, IMO). So hard finding the right size bag. Well, I don' foresee any major lens purchases or anything for a good long while now. But, definitely something to keep in mind. pengster wrote in post #10475894 It's my favourite bag since I got it more then a year ago ![]() The 7MDH will fit my 40D gripped with 17-55 + hood reversed, 70-200 F2.8L IS + hood reversed, 100 F2.8L IS Macro + hood reversed and the 580EX2. Of course, this setup gets quite tiring on the shoulders after a couple of hours. So it should be able to fit all your gears comfortably, since the 70-200 already weighs about 1.5kgs ![]() I guess I can switch shoulders when one gets tired

I think for the gear listed, the 6 would suite you fine. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

I shouldn't have more than 6-7 pounds of equipment in it at a time. 24-70 - 2.1 lbs. 17-40 - 1.1 lbs. 5D2 - 1.8 lbs. 430EX - 1-1.5 lbs.? About 6-7 lbs. total. My handful of accessories are small and light, so those are practically negligible. I guess I can switch shoulders when one gets tired ![]() Yeahp, that's what I do too. For the gear you've listed, it will fit in nicely with some room to spare.

A friend has an older 5 MDH and it seems just as big as my new 6. Maybe the older models were bigger? But a little extra can't hurt to maybe store some other miscellaneous.

It needs to be able to do more than just hold the equipment. I need to be able to have direct access to everything so I can switch lenses, safely and quickly, without having to put the bag down.
