Hi

i lost my cf reader , and Saturday i found one open shop , and i bought a Nilox External usb 2.0 all in 1 card reader , very cheap 9 €

well inside there is not manual and outside the other media like SD or SDHC , the cf could be insert easy in the wrong way

i mean i watched it and i insert the cf with the label on the up side (in same way like the sd , sdhc and so on)
but it was the wrong side

so i insert 5 or 6 times the cf in the wrong side

now could the cf reader damage my cf ?

and could this cf damage the camera

thanks

Its is more likely to damage the pins in the card reader (or camera) if you force the card in the wrong way. But the card reader damaging the card is very unlikely.

I would go for well known brands. I use SanDisk myself.

The only ways a card reader could effect a CF card, that I can think of, is if a pin broke and got stuck inside one of the holes inside the card. OR 2 pins came in contact together and when you inserted the cards, got in 1 hold of the CF card and shorted something out. The latter is a little unlikely, since the holes are rather small.
