Well, it appears that you can get a US$992.90 (AU$997.50 at the time) package through customs without a GST bill, unless they're going to bill me separately, which I've not seen before.

Duh! ****, I deal with this on a daily basis and it didn't occur to me. We purchase on the exchange rate then.....unless you're a Rothschild. ;)
