Ouch! It was only about $150 when I went for mine. That included hire of their car etc...Obviously would've been cheaper without car hire.

Be sure to head to priceline.com - they do great hotels in both LA and SF for a lot less than you'll find elsewhere.

I'm going to be in the Bay Area in September and can't wait to get back there! I'll also be flying down to LA for one day to do a photo session, but thankfully I don't have to stay there :D

Thanks for the tip Kristin! :)

OK, so I'm going nuts trying to work out how to setup my lighting bag(s).

I know there are worse problems to have :-) but still...

Yes, as I said :-)

I'm a bit of a "this must all pack in really tight, no wasted space" freak, and it really hurts at times like this.

Pretty sure I can get the Quadras in the old Computrekker, and the Ranger with grids etc in the Pelican case. Means I have to take both boxes each time (unless I"m traveling really light, in which case the Quadras (or some bits thereof) can go in the old Tamrac Explorer 12 camera bag that has been repurposed.

If I was better at this, I'd have less stuff :-)

I can PACK it properly, it's the designing the layout that gives me grief :-)

Incorret layout results in not packaged properly (well, I'll claim it anyways). :p

Daniel - no problem. I love San Francisco! If you want an awesome breakfast head to John's, just by the zoo. It's a classic locals place where the surfers and neighborhood regulars eat. They do all sorts of food but their omelets and garlic potatoes (don't think about it, just eat them no matter what the time is) are to die for!

Hahah Juice, I'm looking at new Bags now too (and trying to figure out in my head, this will fit this way, this here etc etc), I wish that Kata bag was easily available here

I'm also one that likes to have everything fit perfectly into the bag.
