thanks guys

@Phil - nice candids

@dust_farmer - a fair bit of work involved especially since I don't blur the skin or use plug-ins. Basically involves colour correction using curves, cloning out the major imperfections and then dodging and burning to both remove blemishes and further enhance the facial structure. This is what it ends up looking like at 100%

@Austen - yeah I will teach one day... i'm improving all the time so will be worth the wait : )

@rai -thanks for that, I was curious to know what you had done as she looked a lttle to perfect , but the 100% shot showed that there was still plenty of detail there. My PP can be best described as basic so I may ask dumb questions at times

I'm pretty happy with Smugmug - the two gripes I have with them is that they will only show pro pricing in $US and pay by "check". Their customer service is first class as are the prints/packaging/shipping and the site is easy to use, pretty easy to customise and their sites show off your work very well.

Zenfolio wouldn't ship to Australia - I don't know if that's changed.

Yes, that's seriously (and deliberately) retarded.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Far out:

if the flickr version looks better, why don't you post the one hosted at flickr?

Well I would have but I didn't know how to post the images from Flickr.

Hope everyone's Monday is better than mine is so far...some bug is going around town and it's trying to catch me.

You in 185? Good story about the lifts in that place. One of our diamond suppliers imported a safe from Germany when they moved in. The guys moving it ended up dropping the door in the lift and basically broke the everything in it. Smashed mirrors, smashed tiles etc. It was gold! Almost as good as the movers who got a safe stuck in a 7th story window on Kent street when they tried to use a crane to get it through. :lol:

The Deep Octa has arrived :D

Initial assembly wasn't so bad, I'd taken a few tips about wearing it like a hat etc and it seemed to work pretty well. The construction feels really solid as I was a bit wary at first with forcing the locking rods down.

Told ya Monday! Noice.

My Ranger has arrived, apparently - had a call from them today, saying they'd left a message last week. No idea who's phone that was on, it wasn't mine...

I'll get it at the end of the week.
