So far after only three days I'm having a lot of fun! Sure it's nothing like my 30D, but that's not what it's for!

Here are some examples, I'm sure once I read the manual and get to know it better, I'm hoping to do better.

first shot

not too fond of the sunset setting, I think I could have done better on my own, I just wanted to see what it would do

That's exciting!
Congratulations! G-cameras are incredible tools. The articulating screen is what interested me, although I had been happy with my G9.
Glad to see your photos here.
How does the camera feel in your hands? Does it meet your expectations?
Well done,
DaveL

edit: Glad you took time for coffee! ;)

Just to tie to another thread, some including me have issues with pushing buttons on the camera back that send the camera wandering to thoughts of another world (and I never know what button I pushed.)

I've just bought "egrips" suggested by a good person on another forum when I posted there.

I've put little "egrip strips" high on the right side of my camera (under the spot my thumb should be. Another on the right side of the camera where my right hand palm rests. The camera is changed ! For the better!

Here's a link for the company...

Just in case.

Thanks!

I don't mind how the camera feels. My husband has hit the menu button a couple of times, but I haven't yet. I tried the S90 and found that way too hard to hold. I think this one just fits in my hand very nicely! We'll see how I feel after using it more.

But I'm happy to say it's in my bag with me right now, not sitting at home with the DSLR! It's nice to have just in case. Even if it's so hazy today I couldn't shoot anything! I just wanted something light to have with me and not hurt my back or hands.

Once I realize I can't shoot like I can with a DSLR, I'll be fine! I need to realize my limitations, and enjoy it for it's wonderfulness! Of course I've only borrowed p&s cameras, I've never owned one, so it may take a bit to get used to.

I find my G9 and G11 have encouraged me to play. In comparison, my dslr is more like "work". There's a place for both!
Have fun! Shoot a lot.
