Hope it all works out for you. The only red flag I see is the price.

I think it was posted in the POTN for sale section too.

Sounds a little fishy, besides being to good to be true. Good luck and keep us posted.

Really? If you can still find the link for the sale ad, please do!

I'll keep all of you informed with this; no doubt.

I don't think I would have worried about this one if I was buying. 270 100% positive feedbacks, many high dollar transactions in the past. Hopefully it plays out that way, right place at right time! congrats!

Did you get original receipt? If not, see if you can get it from the seller. The receipt is needed if you have any warranty work done. The warranty card is meaningless - Canon only will accept the original receipt from an authorized dealer.

Best of luck,
D.

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!

Warranty is only for original owner.

Congrats! I would have done it! Then again I'm only a few hours from Broken Arrow and could pay a visit if all wasn't right.

WRONG. Any canon product can be "gifted" and have the warranty transfer so long as the original receipt is provided.

If the seller supplies the buyer with the original (or even a copy) of the original receipt from an authorized dealer, why would Ebay need to be an issue? Canon won't ask, so the owner would need to volunteer the information...why open that "can of worms" for no reason? The original receipt won't have any mention of Ebay on it.

I'd also want the receipt to be assured the camera was purchased legitimately...a lot of us read of the problems a POTN member had buying a lens from a Craigslist seller that was stolen merchandise - things worked out for him...members and Adorama helped him to get a replacement lens, but I think technically he could have been charged with receiving stolen goods. The fact he didn't know the lens had been stolen wouldn't make a difference by the "letter of the law" since "ignorance is no excuse" (not that it would be likely he or anyone in a similar situation would be charged, but it is possible AFAIK).

Fishy to me...Seriously

He uses a stock photo, even though he has 100% feedback thats an instant red flag in my head, if you cant be bothered to take a few photos of the item you're selling then you're too lazy..Especially on a $1300 item

But he does have 100% feedback and i see many high value transactions in his history, He might just want to ensure a fast sell (Generally BIN-only on ebay have a low chance of going because people think they can bid and get the item for less...)
