Haven't done any night shooting of late, so I thought I'd check out Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood near Los Angeles. I wanted to find a location that is curved and in this case uphill so it's not so flat.

On the way home stopped a the Capitol Records building in Hollywood. The gate was more interesting than the building which is on the right of the image, made to look like stacks of records piled up.

They're both really cool. It's funny that in the second, every letter in "Capitol" is back lit by that light on the left, except the letter "I." Is that light behind those trees?

I love the light trails going up and down the hill. Nice capture.

I think the light was behind the trees. I had to dodge the letter I a bit so it's not so dark. Not sure why it wasn't lit like the other letters.

It looks like the letters are double layered with a lights between the layers to give that silhouetted/3D look. Either the light in the "I" is burned out or because you are straight on with it and there are no horizontal sections of that letter you can't see past the front layer to see the lit up back layer. It looks to me that the light in the trees is not doing anything to backlight the letters.

Well, that sounds pretty plausible to me.
