A very large gallery but a few specific questions:

1. I normally shoot vertically, did a lot more horizontally to try to "tell the story," do you like this approach or would you prefer tight crop on the player with the ball.
2. I shoot in RAW and had mixed feelings about my exposure...thoughts?

1. Your crops are fine. You do have a good mix of "action portraits" and "editorial action shots" in there. Well done.

2. A lot of them seem a bit underexposed. Luckily you shot RAW and should be able to fix those easily.

Some additional comments:

3. All of them look a bit "contrasty". I'd dial that back a bit.

4. Some of the images are not really keepers. Especially compared to your overall really good image quality some of the shots should just be deleted. Random example:

Interesting! I appreciate your comments. The first half of the gallery was done with a preset that increases contrast and makes things look a little bit underexposed. I have done that in the past because I think it gives the pictures more "pop." However, your comments about "underexposed" and "contrasty" confirm what a friend told me. Done with that preset!

Very nice pictures there mate. I just have one comment to make, which was also pointed out to me a while back. Some pictures look like they are being played on the side of a hill. the horizon, so to speak, is on a slant which can really take away the quality of the picture.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I do like your pictures

Your lighting was already contrasty? Gavin shoots a lot at high ISO with the sun behind the players, & provides EXIF & fun captions as well. A Cricketing Compendium...

2. I shoot in RAW and had mixed feelings about my exposure...thoughts?

Your site cleverly disables Rt-click, so I can't see your EXIF. Did you shoot on "M"? If not, in sunlight the light "out there" is the same as the light where you are. Need an exposure crutch?
Why?

Yes, I do need an exposure crutch. I usually shoot aperture priority. Manual is problematic IMHO because of the different lighting on different parts of the field. RAW gives me the flexibility t deal with this.

What was the exposure for this shot...

...vs this shot?
http://www.sportsactiondigital.com …327_PHtDz#919201050_Sfpyu (external link)
...and did you have to adjust EC while you were shooting or in PP very much?
Whatever works for you is fine, but I still prefer M & can adjust for backlight pretty fast without looking at the settings. It just takes a bit of practice.
