Ok I've decided that I need some sort of photographers vest or holster setup in addition to a heavy camera bag or to replace it for lighter days. So I'm after something that can hold bits of gear, accessories and other such items secure and safe whilst letting me move around without having to have a heavy backpack. Something that lets me quickly swap out a teleconverter for example without having to open the bag up.

Since I tend to be walking/in the woods more than in towns I'm not really after a shoulder bag type arrangement, plus I find that for heavier gear a shoulder bag is a nightmare for walking with since it puts all the strain on one shoulder - constantly forcing you to shift from one to the other.

So has anyone any advice or setups they use for this?

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

I HIGHLY suggest the thinktank modular system with a belt and harness. I use mine for shooting outdoor events like golf tournaments. I can wear it the whole day and find it comfortable.

+1 for ThinkTank modular system (padded) or you can go with their skin system (unpadded)
