Thanks for your recommendation--a question--how will it perform in rain? The rain cover in LowePro's keeps me going back.

If you want a sling type bag, I would suggest the Tamrac Velocity 9 or 10. I can carry most of that in your gear list mentioned above. I have no issues with comfort since it has a waist strap to help with support. Changing lenses is pretty easy for me since the bag stays in front of me and the profile isn't as bulky like backpack. YMMV.:)

I have this one:

You can also attach accessories on the bag depending on what you need(flash pouch, lens pouch, water bottle holder). I have the MX5385 that fits a 580 EX II.

There's a new article posted on the Adorama Learning Center, Chris:

This next one was put up about 6 weeks go, and looks at bags especially for travelling around:

This is one of my favorites; it gives you a chance to take a look inside the bags of several photographers to see what they haul around with them!

I know you are keeping the 7MDH, but thought I would offer this up. I have grown quite comfortable with my Dakine Mission backpack. I guess the downfall for you with a backpack would be the ability to use as a sling for lens changes and such, but for ease of carrying it is a really comfortable bag. I typically carry my gripped 5Dc, 70-2004L hood reversed, 28-70L hood mounted (not reversed), 580EX, 4 additional batteries, a watter bottle (or beer, depending on the day), and whatever else i feel like sticking in there (sometimes additional clothes). There is room to spare for more lenses if you pack it right. The front of the bag has a couple of straps with clips to allow for carrying a tripod (actually designed to carry a snowboard, which I've done with it). With the tripod it gets to be heavy but the weight is well distributed and the straps are comfortable. There is plenty of padding, especially in the lower back area of the bag. The best part...its a rear entry bag for the gear. Makes it a lot less accessable for tailgaters in a crowded area to go digging through my stuff. The overall design of the bag is just great. The gear compartment is removable, enabling the backpack to double down as a standard bag. It's worth a look.

No problem. Also check Dakine's site because I think they have a larger bag. You will have to be a good packer to get all your gear in the mission. Can be done but will be a tight fit. Let us know what you do.

As of today I''ll be sticking with the Crumpler 7 Mil and Mini Trekker. When I do get a new bag I'll for sure post it here :)

Yellowstone National Park, I'm so jealous!!!!! You're going to have a GREAT time! For a trip like this I would also use my Mini Trekker. It's a trip where you can't afford to leave anything home. I mostly use my Mini Trekker when I shoot architectural stuff for my office. It's just easier. I've deiced to keep using the Crumpler for walking around where I know I won't need to 70-200.

Have a GREAT time in Yellowstone!

Thanks Chris! I'll have a great time.

I was a backpack style camera bag user until I ran across Lowepro's sling bags. Now I have two - the 102 AW (which I review here (external link)) and the 300 AW (which I review here) (external link).

The 102 AW is great for most travel/vacation needs, but if you want a zoom lens with you, then you'll need the extra space provided by the 300 AW.
