These were taken last Friday morning, while my wife & I were out canoeing. All shots were taken from the canoe. The two nesting shots were taken with the 500 + 1.4X TC and the other two without the TC. We cant wait to get back out this weekend and hopefully the chicks will have hatched.

Wonderful shots Scott. We had a lone Loon stop off here this spring during migration. I got some shots, but nothing this nice. :)

Steve pretty much summed it up Scott... the rich colors are beautiful and your capture of the velvet head feathers is excellent... they are checking you out pretty good :).. lovely habitat shots.

These are such gorgeous birds....and these are beautiful shots Scott. I heard on the local news last night they're paying farmers in 8 states to flood their fields (150,000 acres) to try and deter the birds that migrate to south america from flying across the gulf and all that nasty oil. I sure hope it's successful. Didn't hear any plans for the ruby throated hummers though.
