Anyone ever carry a lens or two in a hydration pack before? I'm going to a retreat and don't wanna carry my backpack throughout the day. Was thinking of using it to carry some accessories also. Any experience? Or anything I should look out for besides the bladder leaking? Thanks!

I think your fine as long as you dont put cold water into the bladder. I usually put ice in my camelbak and...yea theres ALOT of condensation. Obviously with just regular water you wont get as much or any. but, I wouldnt suggest putting a camera right up against the bladder(i dont want to assume your using pockets)
If you are using pockets then you are fine. I have one camelbak that I can carry my 7D and my 16-35 in its just fine and I do it often. Of coarse im just talking about small pack. With big ones there are no worries at all.

Edit: If you have to worry about you pack leaking...get a camelbak :)
I love my camelbaks..but all of them were free for me...And i thank your tax money for it!

Also putting a couple of paper towels in the bag with the bladder also helps! Also, ALWAYS fill the bladder before loading the bag(if you dont take the bladder out of you bag that is.).

I have aswell, I just slid a camera dropin in the actual pack (a camelback). Never worried about condensation and even got caught in some serious down pours while biking in Moab. Every thing stayed dry.

I had a bag that fit my body, 20-700 and a wide.

I use a Blowfish Camelbak and carry a 70-200mm f/2.8L in there with no problems, but I do carry the lens in its double zippered Canon case.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
