I was having issues with the Black Rapid fastener using the tripod socket and preventing me from attaching a tripod quick release plate at the same time without having to remove it.

So what I did was tie a small loop of a strong shoelace or boot lace and then seal off the knot with some heat. I sandwiched the loop between the bottom of the camera and the QR plate. The loop goes around the screw with the knot at the front. Once you tighten the QR plate the loop cannot move and the knot stops it from pulling through to the back.

Then you hook the BR connector up to it and away you go.

The loop doesn't get in the way when you want to slot the QR plate into your tripod

Here are some photo's

You can make the loop as long or short as you want.

Knot stops loop from pulling out, also placing it around the screw backs this up.

The loop can take a lot weight

Very nice. I just happened to have found a piece of blue material that is very strong and I was wondering what I was going to do with it. Now I know. Thanks jb
