I have not had the opportunity to see in person the display of images on the screen of an XSI, but I have seen the display in person of the T1i. Is the difference in the two that big of a difference. I know what it is on paper but not with my own eyes. I have a 300D right now and there might as well not even be a display on there, so going from a 300D to an XSI is going to be a big upgrade in LCD screen, but am I going to be missing big time by not stepping up to the higher LCD res. that the 50D/T1i give?

What are you hoping that the nicer LCD will do for your photography? I can't see how you would be missing out, other than having a lower resolution liveview and image review experience.

The T1i's 920000 pixel screen is much better than the 230000 pixel screens, I have them on my 40D and 1D Mark IIs but honestly in real use I don't think it is a big deal. I much prefer using my 1D and 40D cameras for the other features so for me it wouldn't be a deal killer to use the lower res LCD.

I am getting used to using av, tv, and manual modes and I am finding that I am looking at the LCD screen to see "roughly" how the image turned out and what I need to change or alter. With the small screen on the 300D is is a little hard to see? Instead of looking at the screen because it is a little hard I just find myself shooting 4 or 5 times the amount of images at different settings then going home and throwing out the ones that were not so good. Maybe I am going about this wrong?

It's hard to tell what's sharp and what's not. I feel like the T1i gives me an accurate depiction of the image such that I already know what's gonna be good before I upload.

When using my friend's XSI I'm sometimes not 100% sure. Not only that but the pixelation is just... ugh. You know. Old iPhone vs new iPhone basicaly. Hahah.

Here's the thing, the 300D is old and that screen is tiny, I agree. The XSI will be a nice step up, but my friend loves my T1i screen, and certainly my 7D is the same. It just looks so much better he says. It's a clear night and day difference as I've had to shoot XSIs and XTIs for friends from time to time, and I'm never used to the display.... It just feels so... ugh (sorry for being a resolution snob :D)

Of course at present the T2i has the best screen of all but the next xxD and xD models will likely get it too.
