googled a bit and it does seem that there are certain species of hummingbirds that comes around to North Bergen county... or more accurately, Bergen County...

now my house is not in a densely populated town and we have quite a bit of trees and shrubs around the houses... and have had some luck with bird feeders... i'm wondering if i put out a Hummingbird feeder, will they come?

i don't have much flowers in my yards... damned deers come and eat them all up...

thanks in advance...

Only by putting one up and keeping it fresh (important) will you know. But odds are they will show up

We only have one breed of hummer here East of the Mississippi River. The Ruby Throated Hummingbird. The adult males, adult females and juvies all look different, but they are one breed. Very occasionally we do get a pioneer from the Carribean, South or Central America or out West, but that's very rare. Put out a feeder and keep it fresh with 1/4 sugar and 3/4 water, change it once a week or more often in summer, and keep it out till it freezes in the fall, cause birds from Canada will be travelling through well after the first frost, or even the first snow, and your energy drink may make all the difference to them. Place it in plain sight from above, so they can see it when they fly over.

And get as many shots as you can, as this may be the last year they are around. They have to fly over the Gulf of Mexico, twice a year, and with all the oil there now, this may be their doom forever. :(
