I guess toys are subjective so to me, this is a toy. ;) Please excuse the quality, I'm still getting the hang of hand-holding the reversed lens.

I'm glad we had a few more last day entries! I know folks are busy/traveling this time of year, so thanks to all who participated!

Yes, the interpretation of what you consider a "toy" was also what I wanted to see. I'm glad we had such a wide variety!

theague and "Screw gun" - nice job with the hand held reversed lens! Maybe a slightly different composition that wasn't so centered would make for a stronger image, and the red in the lower left is a little distracting to me.

JohnB and "Big Boy Toy" - I guess that is a big boy toy alright and a fun one at that! I think you have just a wee bit of dust on there though. ;)

JasonC and "I am now the master..." I confess this one made me laugh out loud. As a new Droid owner, I've been gathering my "sounds", and of course you can't have a Droid without Star Wars sounds. Nicely executed photo!

hooker771 - Don't forget to include a title on your images in the future! I think this was a great idea, but I admit my first thought was that maybe a shallower depth of field where your selective color object is the main focus would have looked really cool. My eye was first drawn to the blue crayon and lettering and then gold which wasn't in color and then at the text on several other crayons. I think I was trying to decide what the main subject was.

Chet and "On Guard" - This one made me laugh too. Great bokeh. I have to confess that the second time I looked at it the face reminded me a little of the creature from the black lagoon. :) Maybe a darker background would have made it set it apart more??

RyanGSams - Welcome to macro and not a bad job with the reversed lens. Remember to include a title in the future too! Is this a Droid? If so, I can easily see how it's a toy. Even if it's not cell phones/PDAs can qualify as toys for most folks. :)

The shot that I liked best for this challenge is...
JasonC and "I am now the master"! The composition and execution won me over (and the subject didn't hurt).

H.M. goes to Chet and "On Guard".

Thanks again for playing this week folks!
(Gotta go round up some kittens that are running amok in my living room now...)

Thank you Lisa for the nod, and the challenge wide critique. Thank you theague and Chet. My original concept was the have Vader and Obi in sabre battle...however, wasn't going to happen with 1:1 mag. I will post my runner up shot, that of Obi in focus. I liked that one a lot, but Vader was a bit to oof in deep in the circle of confusion.

By the way, those are original 1977 Kenner Star Wars action figures. And yes, I still play with them...

I'll post the next challenge before I go nitey nite tonight.

Thank you once again.

Jason C

Thanks for the info. I will keep my eye on this now. I only saw this today and saw it closed tonight so i had to hurry up and figure out how to do macro with an 18-55. yes that was a Droid. I love that phone and can't live without it anymore. I will be sure to include a title in the future.
