I love Cades Cove, so were these bears a result of a bear jam or where they off the beaten path? Very nicely done!

Nice!

Do you know how #1 got the purple on it? Something it ate?

amazing shots, Unfortunately in my area, the black bears tend to roam quite a ways, and one poor buggger ended getting hit my a car on a fourlane highway here, sad, poor thing must have been terrified with all the vehicles zooming by,

Great shots, I wish we were that lucky to have wildlife like this on our door step.

Thanks everyone, for the kind comments.

dano - A couple were on the main loop road and did cause a "bear jam" the rest were on one of the side roads or trials

S.Horton - The little ones had just been sampling the not yet ripe blackberries earlier that morning ... they're ripe now!

Hoyts n' Mulies - Exactly right about the berries

Sam - It was nice to meet you and your wife this past weekend. The Orchard Orioles were back in the same bush later that day. Hope you were able to get plenty of good photos.

Great shots, Bob. Funny, in many visits to GSMNP and Cades Cove, I've yet to see a bear there.

Thanks Stan - If you are coming this way drop me a note and I'll try and help remedy the bear problem.

It had just robbed a bank, and the dye-pack exploded on him. LOL
