If they were to do something like that(The AF and weather sealing) then they would sell 1/2 the amount of 1Ds's then they would if they didnt. It just wouldnt benifit them if they were to put that good of an AF system on it. I would say that they expect it to be used as a studio camera that doesnt need a super fast AF.
