Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knew what a seller, I am deciding whether or not to deal with, was actually talking about.

I asked a few basic questions about the camera as the seller admitted that it was a "new" camera that had been a display in local store but is in mint condition. Some of the things I found out were; it came from Office Depot, the lens, lcd screen, flash, camera body, etc are all brand new mint, and the product will be able to register for the warranty.

However one part confused me, that being "I can tell you it is definitely brand new in box, only difference from not being a display is that it bypasses the initial gray time entry start up screen. Otherwise, noone would ever notice any difference."
What is this gray time entry start up screen that they are referring to?

I have previously owned a s1is (that i loved) which due to lack of the proper part to repair it, was replaced by a refurb s3is that was offered at a substantial discount as a substitute. The problem is, even after 2 replacements, it has never seemed quite right to me so I am a bit nervous of anything not in a sealed box.

Thank you for your help
