A few tips: First off, if you don't have a gray card, get one! All your WB issues will be gone and your colors will be bang-on every time! Second, always shoot in Manual. Not only are you in full control but because you're taking all the guess work away and feeding the camera all the variables it needs, you free up your cameras processor which allows more processing power for the AF. I'm not gonna lie.. shooting in M scared the @#$% outta me at first. Photos were sometimes too dark, but in most cases (in the snow) way too bright and detail was lost
. Start out pre-composing your shot in Av. Pick an aperature you feel comfortable with and see what shutter speeds you get. If it's too slow, bump the ISO up. If you don't know how to read a histogram, figure it out (trust me!!). Once you get an exposure you like and the right shutter speed, take a look at the Aperature, shutter speed and ISO, switch to M and plug the settings in! You'll be happy with the consistent results and be able to worry more about composure
I'm not pro, so correct me if I'm wrong guys but this should definitely point him/her in the right direction
