Hi guys!

I am desperate.. I have Lightroom 2.6 and I downloaded the trial for Lightroom3. I decided to buy the upgrade since all my catalogs are in v3 now..

Anyway, I purchased the upgrade.. but my Paypal transaction is showing as PENDING.. I chatted with some rep online and I was told it takes 24-48hours to get an email with the download link and serial number?????

REALLY??? Is this the norm?? ugggggggg... My trial is expired now, and I have a deadline but can't get in to my catalogs! GRRRR

PayPal can be like that -- it's easier to pay directly to Adobe through a card. Sorry!

you're very likely buying pirated software there.

Go onto the Adobe website and download the 30Day trial version of LR3. I don't know if it will bring up your catalog but it's worth a try

WHERE did you "buy" this upgrade? I know MANY places might be a little slower in processing your order (be it something electronically delivered or a physical product) when you pay via PayPal vs. just a credit card.

IF you went through Adobe, it's obviously legit, you just need to be patient. If you ordered a physical copy, you'd have to wait a day or so anyway.

The only time I used Paypal on the Adobe site, it did the same thing. Turns out it never completed the transaction between Paypal and Adobe. If you didn't get an immediate confirmation from Adobe then it didn't work.

I simply used a credit card instead. The pending payment still shows in my Paypal account.

He already has the trial version and it has expired, hence his proble.

I don't think that we should be jumping all over the OP insinuating that he is buying pirated software and not supporting those hard working engineers at Adobe. He doesn't say where he bought the upgrade package but there are legit resellers other than buying direct from Adobe. However, I still think this is still the best solution using your credit card. I have never had an issue with Adobe when buying direct from them and I always had my serial number within a very short time frame.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Not insulting was intended. But just I've seen too many eBay sellers selling "link and serial", and obviously 99% of those aren't authentic.

Just checked Adobe's they do have download and paypal options too, so true OP might have done that.

When LR upgrades the catalog from LR2 to LR3 the LR2 catalog is not changed or over written. If you somehow got rid of your LR2 catalog, sorry, but you may be hosed.

Agreed. I had the exact same problem. Go back to Adobe and get the upgrade again and this time pay with a credit card. Then call PayPal and let them know. They will sort it out with Adobe.
It will take about 3 or 4 days to go to cancel on PayPal.

The transaction between Adobe and PayPal have a hard time completing for some reason.

It is an option but as has been pointed out by this thread, it has problems.

I tried it at the end of last year, I hadn't seen it before that.

Thanks guys!
I ended up trying a different credit card and it worked!! I have no idea why the other credit card didn't work because that is my main card and I was able to use it in other purchases..

Fyi, I bought it from adobe.com directly! Their Customer service sucks.. they just kept telling me to wait for the confirmation email! uggg..
