So I've taken some photos of a family who wants to have a nice big framed canvas as the final product, to put up as the main thing you see when you walk into their house.

They've got 4 pictures picked out of the session we had.

They've posed a question to me; "Is there a mock up so that we can see what they may look like?"

I've never sold a canvas before, will be my first one, so I don't have a sample of one to show them. Other than grabbing the pictures from the various online labs that I may use; Millers, Mpix, WHCC, BayPhoto etc...is there any way I can show them a mock up?

I don't think so but wanted to check.

Thanks!

order a sample... and then keep for ourself so you can show to more clients... you will never sell what you can't show off.

Tis very true. But when you say sample, you just mean, pick out a picture of my own work that I want to put up in my house, order it and use it as my "sample" to them?

In other words, just order one of my own...it will become my sample?

I can do that.

yes... but... a good photo of what you are trying to sell. we sell more huge baby canvas wraps from family sessions than we do for weddings even though we shoot more weddings than baby session... why? because we have two huge 30x30's of our own kids that people see when they come over.

I'm trying to sell my photography of kids and families, both. So a good one of my son or whatever should do well.

I forgot though my client wants a canvas print (not wrap), to frame, I don't really want one of those in my house...I want wraps. But I guess they could get the idea of the canvas print from the wrap?
