I can try this at home once I get off work, but just wondering what shutter speed will capture some movement in a fast paced walker?
1/15? 1/30? 1/45?

But the math is pretty simple. Walker is about 3 MPH or about 4.4 feet a second. At 1/15 of a second the walker will have moved 3.5 inches. See, our teachers were right. We would have to do word problems when we get older. Kevin

As has been mentioned, distance/focal length (or rather, the absolute size of the image on the sensor) matters. As well, the direction of movement also matters. You had Mrs. George too? 4th grade. She really drilled math into me. She was ancient, a thousand years old. Funny thing is that when I had my son and we enrolled him in the same school, she was still there and still was ancient. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
