I bought one for my 70-200 F4 IS. Cheap enough and all metal. Actually I have never seen a plastic knockoff offered for sale.

Jul 12, 2010 15:38 | #19 I ordered an Opteka this morning from Amazon. It was $25 with shipping. It was either that or no collar at all, I'm not spending $150 on something that should have come with the lens. How much do you figure Canon pays for them, maybe $20? 7D/BG-E7 - 580EXII - EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM - EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM - EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM - in a Domke F-2RW

Jul 13, 2010 13:58 | #21 I realize that, but I'm saying that they could include it because it would cost them nowhere near $150 like it does us. The markup on them has to be at least 6x or 7x. 7D/BG-E7 - 580EXII - EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM - EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM - EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM - in a Domke F-2RW

I'd rather they left it alone and the third party guys handled it. That way you'll get one for $35 instead of $100, or a 70-200 f/4 for $800. Obsessive Gear List
