Ive been looking around online for posing ideas for babies, and one I tend to see pretty often is the baby in a hammock or net. And I was just wondering how to do this. I was also wondering how comfortable is the baby in that thing, they dont look to comfortable.

Im Googling for the answer, but in the mean time I thought someone here may know.

Babies are most cooperative when they are warm, clean and fed. Have the mom feed the baby and keep them warm right up until you're ready to shoot. It may look uncomfortable, but remember what they just went through a few weeks/months prior. NOTHING is more uncomfortable than that. ;) Make sure that you have someone very close by the sling just in case.

I have heard of people using blowdryers (carefully) to keep the baby in that happy warm place. Genius imho.

Blowdryers??????????? Wow. Kinda noisy, but ok. I use a space heater, but alrighty, a blow dryer. who knew? Not me. Also, dude is right about newborns being comfortable in all positions. They haven't had time to stiffen up yet, and are very pliable. Just put them in the sling and slowly raise it up a few inches. Once you stop moving up, they might squirm a bit but they should settle quickly enough, especially if you give them a binky. You can tell by the lack of forehead wrinkles, when they are completely "out". Remove the binky gently, let him settle again, and shoot fast.

I think you will find this article very interesting. This is in this month's PPA magazine.
