im looking for either a sling bag or a backpack to carry a 15" laptop, 1 camera body (5d), maybe 2-3 lens, extra pocket for flash/accessories, and maybe a small section for clothes.

i really like how the Incase dslr sling look, but it doesnt have a laptop compartment. any other bag in similar shape as this bag that can hold a laptop?

i have also looked into a kata dr-467 and lowepro compudaypack. the kata dr-467 bag looks like it'll fit what im looking for. can anyone comment whether it is comfortable for riding? the compudaypack is too bulky for me.

i need a bag that has comfortable straps, does not interfere with the back of my helmet and not bulk/thick.

right now my everyday bag is the tenba large messenger bag. i really like this bag a lot but the strap cant go short enough for me to place the bag on my back when i wear it across chest.
thanks!

That's a large amount of equipment to be carrying by bike (the laptop) which adds about 4-5 pounds of weight to your ride. When I bike, i personally don't bring my entire equipment load and stick with 2-3 lenses, some cheap strobist stuff, and a stand that I akwardly attach onto my flipside 300. If you really want to bring more equipment on your biking journey, you should look into a bike rack so that you can add some additional equipment.

I personally don't ride with my laptop. It is not practical if the purpose of the shoot is to enjoy the ride and to stop and shoot at the location for 5-15 minutes.

i ride, but i dont carry my equipment with me. when i shoot up in the mountains i use my cage. if i have to carry and ride, i use my streetwalker HD by thinktank. it has laptop compartment and a **** load of room for camera stuff...

i have a 15" mbp, so its not that heavy. ive carried this amount of load on my back before and its not that bad. reason i want a comfy pack is because i commute from my 1st job to my 2nd job, and its about 45 mins - 1hr in traffic. then on my way back home is about 30 mins.

i like to always have a camera with me all the time if possible and my laptop is a must. usually i will carry my laptop with me instead of my camera. i dont mind limiting to just 2 lens, 1 body, and no flash is fine. the weight of the 15" mbp, 5d ungripped, 35L, and 135L, is very tolerable. my 2nd job is a lifeguarding job so i need to have at least my shorts, tshirt, sweater, and sandals. all of that can be rolled up.

Now that you have mentioned that you are commuting for significant amounts of time, I definitely would recommend that you look into a bike rack. All that friction will cause wear and tear on your backpack and if it is a hot day; you'll want to carry fewer items.

I personally have a bike rack which has made urban night biking/commuting tons of fun though I use it to carry my tripod moreso than anything else.

You could also look into getting a camera insert for your backpack. that would allow you to carry your extras in the same bag.

Sonny--I have a Tenba Messenger too.
Have you thought of shortening the strap? I've bought Domke or Lowepro straps and cut them to length, and stitched them up...find it easy to do. A strap is cheaper than a bag! :)

I'm a bagaholic--so I do understand the quest for a new bag!

My concern about the Tenba--is it waterproof if you get caught in the rain?

My suggestion would be an F-Stop Tilopa. Designed for active photographers it should be decent for street riding.

@c2thew: sorry i shouldve been more clear, i ride a motorcycle. Not a bicycle.

@2mnycars: i do use my tenba a lot and im using a shorter strap from a different bag. I need a little more space for a small set of clothes and this bag doesnt have enough space.

@messiah khan: ive heard a lot of good reviews on that bag. Im afraid it might be too tall? I dont want it to restrict my head movement when riding. I rode with a burton 28L and that bag is just too massive and tall. It was uncomfortable to look around when switching lane.

I also have a 7mdh an ive adjusted to fit 5d, sigma 50 1.4 attached and sigma 15 fisheye on 1 side and 2 set of clothes (1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, 3 shirts, 2 briefs, 2 pair of socks, and extra battery and lens cleaner in the front pocket. With all that in, its still very comfortable and not heavy. The strap is thick and can adjust very small to fit the bag behind my back like a sling.

Since you want to carry that much equipment on a regular basis, I'd look into saddlebags or a trunk. I've been riding for over 30 years and I've always had bags on my bikes. I currently ride a Honda GoldWing which has HUGE bags...
